Frequently Asked Questions

General

Is Study-Track free?

Yes. The core features (timer, week view, stats, streaks, friends, leaderboard, groups, and timetable import) are all free. Premium adds extra skip tokens, vacation slots, and advanced stat filters. See Subscription for the full comparison.

What platforms does Study-Track support?

Study-Track runs in any modern browser at study-track.app. Native apps for iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows are also available.

Is my data synced across devices?

Yes. Study-Track stores everything in the cloud (Firebase) so your data is always current across all your devices. Sign in with the same account to access your full history anywhere.

Timetable & Import

My university isn't in the institution list. Can I still import?

Yes. Download an ICS file from your university's scheduling portal and use the Manual ICS import. Any system that exports standard .ics files will work.

My imported timetable is missing some classes.

Some university systems only export events for the current or upcoming few weeks. Check the source portal directly to confirm which events are included. Missing classes can always be added manually from the week view: tap any empty time slot.

How do I update my timetable after a schedule change?

Go to Settings → Timetable and tap Re-import next to the source. Study-Track fetches the latest version from the same URL. For manually uploaded ICS files, you'll need to delete the old import and upload a new file.

Study Timer

Will my session be lost if I close the app?

No. The timer state is saved continuously. When you reopen the app, the session is still running and you can stop it normally: or it will be saved as-is if too much time passes without interaction.

Can I log study time I forgot to track?

Yes. Tap any empty slot in the week view and add a past event manually. You can set the exact date, start time, end time, and subject.

Streaks

My streak reset even though I studied. What happened?

Streak days are counted by calendar day in your local timezone. If your session ended just after midnight, it counts toward the new day rather than the previous one. Check the stats page to confirm the session was saved on the date you expect.

Can I recover a streak I've lost?

Streaks cannot be restored once they reset. To protect an upcoming streak, use a skip token the evening before a day you know you won't study: go to Planning → Streaks and tap Use skip.

Friends & Groups

How do I find and add a friend?

Go to Friends → Add friend and search by their username (e.g. @jonas). They'll receive a friend request and appear in your friends list once they accept.

How do I leave a group?

Go to the group, open Group Settings, and tap Leave group. If you're the only admin, promote another member first.

Account & Data

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes all your data including your study history, streaks, and friends. This action cannot be undone.

Can I export my study data?

Yes. Go to Stats → Export to download your full study history as a CSV file. You can open this in any spreadsheet application.

I can't log in. What should I do?

Try the Forgot password link on the login screen. If you signed up with Google, make sure you're using the same Google account. If the issue persists, contact support with your account email.

Is my data GDPR compliant?

Yes. Study-Track is built and hosted in the EU and complies with GDPR. See the Privacy Policy for full details on what data is collected and how it's used.
