Profile & Settings

Your profile is what friends see when they look you up or check the leaderboard. You can change your name, photo, and username at any time, and control exactly what others can see.

Accessing your profile

Tap your avatar in the top-right corner of the header, then select Settings → Profile.

Display name

Your display name is shown to friends, on the leaderboard, and in group overviews. It can be anything: your real name, a nickname, whatever you prefer.

To change it:

  1. Go to Settings → Profile
  2. Tap Display name
  3. Enter your new name and tap Save

Username

Your username (e.g. @jonas) is how other users search for and add you as a friend. A few rules apply:

  • Must be unique across all Study-Track users
  • Can only contain letters, numbers, dots (.), and underscores (_)
  • Can be changed once every 7 days

To change your username, go to Settings → Profile → Username.

Choosing a username

Pick something recognisable to your friends: they'll need to type it exactly when searching. Something like your first name plus a number works well.

Profile photo

  1. Go to Settings → Profile
  2. Tap your current photo (or the placeholder if you haven't set one yet)
  3. Upload a new image from your device

Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP. Maximum file size: 5 MB. Your photo is cropped to a circle automatically.

Institution

Setting your institution shows your university or school on your profile and helps Study-Track suggest relevant friends.

Go to Settings → Profile → Institution, search by name, and select yours from the list.

Privacy

Control what others can see on your profile. These settings apply to friends: your data is never shared publicly.
